This painting is in the Collegial Church of La Romieu, in the Gers region of France. The village is a stop on the Camino (the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain) and another place which only gets a mass once a month and never on the Sunday we're there.

This is one of the stations in the church of St Pancras, in Gigny-sur-Saone, Burgundy. We stay at the campsite here every year and have never been to mass in their local church because it only get one service per month, if that, and it has never coincided with our visit there.

This is part of a large granite carving in Brittany. In the middle ages the Bretons made a lot of carvings called Calvaires, Calvaries, and this is from one of the biggest. Most are just a crucifixion, but this one has scenes from the entire life of Christ.

A lot of churches were built in the 50s and 60s, and have come to need major maintenance work in the last 20 years. Exmouth is another of them. So while they fixed the roof and redecorated the interior they bought a new set of Stations.
